In every culture, past and present, there have been same-sex relationships
GLBTQ?
Have you ever seen these letters and wonder what they mean….
GLBTQ stands for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer or Questioning..

Questioning: a person who has not yet identify themselves as Gay, Lesbian. Bisexual, or transgender but knows that they are not quite heterosexual
How do I know?
It is estimated that anywhere between 5-10 percent of the population is GLBTQ
Different people discover their sexual orientation in different ways. They are not one right way or wrong way to discover our sexuality
It’s ok not to know if you are gay or straight but asking yourself some questions such as this might help…
….do I sometimes feel sexually attracted to people of the same sex
…..Do I feel emotionally attracted to someone of the same sex?
…...Do I have many sexual fantasies or romantic fantasies about people of the same sex…?
There are no right or wrong answers to theses questions. Think about your responses and give yourself the chance to question and explore what is right for YOU…
I think I might be………
Gay
Lesbian
Bisexual
Transgender
Coming out…
The process of a GLBTQ person acknowledging their sexual orientation is an ongoing process not a single event……
Make your decision based on what works for YOU…
Health Concerns…
Most of the health issues facing GBLT teens are no different from heterosexual teens, but because of the lack of acceptance face in today’s society GLBT teens face many obstacles in regard to health care. Because many workplace policies do not cover unmarried partners many GLBT people are often without insurance coverage and therefore cannot get the proper care needed. And also the added stress a person face because of their GLBT sexual orientation and some lifestyle differences contribute to some of the health problems.
